Without knowing who to target you are essentially throwing your marketing budget's money out the window. In order to really generate targeted leads you first need to step away from marketing your business. Instead, follow these five steps to pre-qualify and locate great new leads.

Five Steps to Better Business Opportunity Leads

1. The first and perhaps most important step is to set up a compelling and eye catching landing page that has an opt in box with a clear call to action. Remember, put aside marketing your business for the time being. Instead outline what your leads' problems are and offer solutions. With this approach you are more likely to screen for people who are already in the network marketing business, finding they're having a tough time with it and will be open to the idea of a new network or business.

2. Work on optimizing your landing page by keeping careful track of your click through rates. Identify exactly what it is your targeted leads will want and send a message directly related to that.

3. In order to improve your conversion rates (the traffic you need to drive to your landing page in order to get one opt in), offer something for free. Develop an ebook, industry report or online course and provide this free of charge in exchange for an opt in. You can also check with your network's business office or upline leaders to see what products they might already have for you to offer here.

4. Continue to provide good quality, informative information to your leads free of charge. Once you have their email addresses, send out weekly or bi-weekly newsletters that contain links to your site or blog.

5. By implementing some of the newest network marketing approaches such as the "get paid today" method, you can still make a sale and earn a hefty profit even if your leads aren't interested in signing with a new network.
